Meta Owned Platforms are Set to Get Safety Features for Females in India

Meta-based social media websites like Instagram and Facebook got new features for the online safety of women. These two social media websites said that they are rolling out some major and strong policies to combat online harassment and sharing consensual intimate images to women users. These will be done through technological changes made by the company.

Women Safety Features in 11 Indian Languages

The tech giant has launched safety features in eleven languages in order to facilitate most of the Indian women population speaking in many local languages apart from English. It helps more and more female users to access useful and safe information for women’s security. In this way, non-English speakers won’t face difficulties due to language barriers. 

The platform also contains video-on-demand features that allow the user to register themselves for the live training session that will be hosted in multiple languages. Besides English, it is available in major Indian languages like Telugu, Odia, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Hindi etc. 

Preventing Non-Consensual Intimate Images

The social media giant with the collaboration of StopNCII.org tries to stop non-consensual intimate images shared by other users. The platform partnered with other organizations like Red Dot Foundation, Social Media Matters, Centre for Social Research etc, and focused on the matters of women’s concerns related to online activities.

Summary

Facebook and Instagram are about to launch new features for the security of women in India with the collaborations of many organizations. The social media giant will introduce strict policies to curb the online sharing of women-related articles and images.
